Design is most of what I do. Editorial design and annual reports. Brochures and marketing material. Websites, emails and interactive projects.

Branding is the other half. Sometimes that means building a brand from the ground up. Sometimes it means bringing an existing brand back to life, with care for what made it work in the first place.

Over time I learned that communication problems are often system problems. A campaign underperforms because the audience is poorly understood. A donor goes quiet because the signal was buried. A team struggles to tell a clear story because the data lives in too many places.

That thinking led me to found AI4Love in 2024. AI4Love is relationship intelligence for non-profit organizations and foundations. It connects fragmented supporter data and helps teams see across their systems, so the right relationships get the right attention.

Good data. Clear communication. Better stewardship. It is the same work I have always cared about, deeper in the system.

Building AI4Love taught me that the hardest part of AI is not capability. The hardest part is restraint. I wrote about that here.

I also test a lot of tools. Some earn a permanent place. Most end up in the graveyard. I write about both.

I am also a musician. I play in a band that plays rock and alternative rock. When I am not designing or playing, I am up north on Georgian Bay, out on the water.

To me, design is disciplined art. The logical side and the creative side, working together. I liked that idea enough to wear it.
